Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain in Camps Bay, Cheviotts is a stunning architectural marvel that DVH was proud to engineer. The home, situated against the slopes of Lion’s Head, offers breathtaking views of the Twelve Apostles, the Atlantic Ocean, and Camps Bay. Designed to harmonize with its environment, the house frames these vistas using pure geometric shapes and planes. DVH overcame numerous structural challenges to bring the architect’s vision to life, including a complex design featuring a stone plinth base, a glazed middle level, and a top-level that appears as a hovering concrete box. The home’s unique street façade and integration with the natural landscape, including mature trees, further enhance its distinctive design. The result is a modern masterpiece that blends form, function, and the surrounding natural beauty.
